Blog #3--Conflict and Resolution

In the book Divergent the main problem that Beatrice faces is being divergent because it is a very serious situation to be divergent.After there final task of becoming dauntless, all the initiates are injected with a serum that will track where they go, but it induces all of the dauntless to become sleeping soldiers. since Beatrice is divergent the serum doesn't work for her. Nor does it work for Four her leader who is also divergent. Beatrice tries to escape but quickly gets caught and is sentenced to death. To her surprise her mom who was also divergent saves her, When Beatrice goes back to find four he starts to attack her because he gets put under a different simulation, she could kill him but chooses not to . In the end four snaps out of the simulation and helps Beatrice shut down the simulation, so the dauntless are not sleeping soldiers and can have their own minds back. 

Have you ever been so angry at someone that you have wanted to hurt them badly, but took the high and were the better person. If you did how did that make you feel?

Beatrice is strong willed and doesn't like to show people her weaknesses. She doesn't know much, but when she starts to learn things, like how to shoot a gun and how to throw knives she starts to believe more in herself. Beatrice has had to make a lot of hard decisions throughout the book so far. One hard decision that she had to make was taking a risk and helping her friend if she fell off of a railing that she had to hang on to for 5 minutes over a water fall. Or just sit and watch her to see if she falls or not so her trainer wouldn't punish her. Question If you were put in a situation where you could get punished for helping your friend when they really need you,would you stand back and watch them or would go in and help them no matter what happens to you after.

Blog #1

The book Divergent is about a girl Beatrice. At the age of 16 she has to take an aptitude test that will help her to pick a faction (a small organization within a bigger one) that is best suited for her. Once she gets the results she finds out that she is divergent, which is very special she has the results for two factions. Beatrice has to make the decision of staying with her faction or choose a new one. She has to choose to stay with the faction her parents are in, Abnegation which is for the unselfish or choose a new one  Dauntless which was for the brave, this faction is one that  her parents wouldn't approve of.

If you had to pick would you pick a faction  that your parents approve of, or would you choose the one that you would want to go into?
